Yokefellows/Men’s Day Committee
The Men’s Ministry works under the direction of Sr. Pastor Dr. Gregory Foster to equip and nurture men to cultivate Christ-like leaders for the home, community and Church. The ministry takes the leadership role in implementing a series of male focused programs including the annual Men’s Day Weekend Celebration on the third weekend in May.
Our purpose is to reach out and win others to Jesus Christ, to disciple them to Christian maturity and service. Our goal is to develop Christian character by holding brothers accountable to practice and strengthen their faith.
Yokefellows ministry focuses specifically on men dwelling “together in unity.
Yokefellows takes to heart the scripture from the book of Matthew 11:29 which states, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”Yoke means to join together and this is exactly what this ministry does; they gather and bond, as males, for weekly Bible Study and to discuss life’s issues pertaining to God and family.
Even though the Yokefellows involves men from ages nineteen (19) and up, they serve as role models for the Agape Youth Ministry (AYM). They provide support for AYM programs in education, cultural enrichment and sports outings designed to teach young males a love for God, social graces, respect for self, family, and their peers. We strive to foster a stronger bond ‘with’ and serve as positive role models ‘for’ young men.
The ministry welcomes any “fellow” who wishes to bond and walk in the word. The yokefellows meet each Wednesday at 7:00 in room 116.
